J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP) and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation’s first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, are joining forces to provide America’s newest generation of military veterans with more than $1 million in apparel and footwear to start new civilian wardrobes.


IAVA Applauds Passage of Jobs Bill for Veterans in the House

IAVA applauded the House of Representatives today for passing the Veteran Opportunity to Work (VOW) Act (H.R. 2433), introduced by Republican House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller of Florida. The bill will require programs to assist the transition from military to civilian life, strengthen job protections for deployed service members and help military personnel acquire civilian certifications.


IAVA Hosts Fleet Week Job Fair for Bay Area Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans

IAVA announced its First Annual Fleet Week Smart Job Fair will be held from 12-5 p.m. on October 6 at the War Memorial Green Room in San Francisco. It is the first of five events being held around the country as part of IAVA’s Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) America partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
